Are you a homeowner who wishes that there were something different about your kitchen? Although
most homeowners love their homes, including their kitchens, it is relatively easy to get bored of
something, especially a room that you visit multiple times a day. If you are looking for a change,
particularly with your kitchen, you may want to think about remodeling your kitchen. A kitchen
remodeling project may be just what you and your kitchen needs.

Kitchen remodeling; sounds fun doesn’t it? If the idea of remodeling your kitchen sounds exciting, there is a chance that you may want to get started right away. Of course, you can start remodeling your kitchen whenever you want, but first you must develop a plan. That plan should not only include what particular parts of your kitchen you would like changed, but also how you want them changed. For instance, if you are making the decision to replace your old kitchen cabinets and countertops with new ones, you need to choose a new set. In fact, you must choose a new set before you start your project; otherwise, you could be left with a mess. The only problem is that many homeowners, just like you, have a difficult time determining exactly what they want.

If you have decided that you would like to have your kitchen remodeled, but you don’t exactly know to the full extent how yet, you may want to seek assistance. If you are looking for professional assistance, you may want to think about acquiring the services of a professional decorator. Professional decorators are individuals who have not only had training, but they also have experience in the art of decorating. A professional decorator could not only advise you to replace your kitchen floor, but they could also offer you suggestions on what your flooring replacement should be. The only problem with this is that professional decorators charge money for their services; therefore, if you are looking to remodel your kitchen on a budget, you may find hiring the services of a professional decorator difficult or even impossible; however, there is an alternative.

These picture displays may help to give you remodeling ideas, such as which kitchen countertops would look good in your kitchen and which ones would not.

If you do not want to shop or examine kitchen remodeling products and designs ideas online, you could also visit one or more of your local home improvement stores. Most large home improvement stores sell the products, supplies, and materials that are the most popular; therefore, even if you are looking to have a trendy kitchen, you could get remodeling and decorating ideas by visiting your local home improvement store, but as previously mentioned, the internet is a lot easier and a lot quicker way.

THE RETURN OF BLACKSeptember 12, 2018

Now that the gray trend is beginning to show signs of wear, and don’t get me wrong, gray should never go away completely; we need to start looking for inspiration elsewhere. In comes our familiar stranger, black. Black is a trickier color to work with than gray as it can be severe and it can be overwhelming so we need to exercise restraint with it and not run amuck like we did with gray.

The classic use of black is when combined with white. The patterns of these can vary from checkerboard floors to penny tiles but now that we operate in a fast evolving design environment, the options are limited only to our creativity.

One of the most popular ways of incorporating black is when black grout is paired with white subway tile. When doing this, make sure that the tile is laid perfectly straight otherwise, the unevenness becomes very apparent and you will risk making your tile job look shoddy. Patterned decorative tile on the floor or as an accent wall also looks great in black and white when coordinating with white wall tile but then using a white grout so that you don’t conflict a grout pattern with the pattern in the decorative tile. There are only particular ways in which these combinations are on-point.

For kitchen backsplash, consider using a black polished subway tile for some subtle drama. The balance of a traditional brick lay paired with a modern black polished tile will get you a very updated look!

Black and White: The Underdog TrendDecember 03, 2017

While everybody has been focused on the hot gray trend and debating whether to move away from it or not, there is a quiet little trend that is happening mostly unnoticed but needs to receive a lot more credit than it’s getting: black and white.

The Wood Floor DilemmaDecember 03, 2017

Yes, there is a wood floor dilemma. Let me explain: When selecting flooring for the home, it is best to place one floor throughout, at least in the common areas. This helps to keep an open flow and does not visually fragment the space. The dilemma comes in when you are looking at wood floors.

The Gray Trend: Yay or Nay?November 13, 2017

You may have noticed that gray is in right now, and rightfully so. It is a modern, cool color that goes with just about everything however, there is such a thing as over-kill and I think that we are reaching that point with gray.  In the future, anything that has been done in gray up to now will intimate to this specific point in time. That is what we will call “dated”.

Selecting Paint ColorsNovember 08, 2017

Selecting a wall color is a process that is actually quite simple, don’t let it be the source of stress! The first thing to keep in mind is that the color you put on your wall should be a compliment to the rest of the room. No wall color should be so bold that it overpowers the room and takes attention away from everything else.

Tips on Choosing a BacksplashNovember 06, 2017

Selecting a kitchen backsplash can be tricky, there are two main factors that one must contend with: the condition of the room (size, layout and amount of natural light) along with the style and look you would like to achieve. The room will dictate a lot of what you can and cannot do.
